Two Bodies Found in Chetumal, Quintana Roo

CHETUMAL, Mexico — A human body displaying multiple signs of violence and with its hands bound was discovered on Bahía Boulevard in the state capital on Thursday morning.

According to initial reports, the body was reported around 8 a.m. on the stretch of road leading to Calderitas.

The discovery of the body immediately mobilized units from the Municipal Police, the National Guard, and personnel from the State Attorney General's Office.

Forensic criminalists carried out the collection of evidence and transported the body to the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo) for the corresponding legally mandated autopsy.

At this time, the victim remains unidentified.

Executed Near Payo Obispo Zoo

Previously, an armed attack was registered in the vicinity of the Payo Obispo Zoo, on Florencia Street between Bacalar and Isla Cancún, where a man was found dead with at least four bullet wounds.

According to initial reports, the victim was allegedly pursued and subsequently executed in the area.

Unofficial sources indicated that the deceased had attempted to hide in what was believed to be a nearby "drug distribution point," though he did not manage to reach his destination.

The perpetrators fled, and there is currently no information regarding their whereabouts.
