Cancún, Mexico — Two people died and one was injured in a shooting at the Villas Otoch neighborhood in Cancún early Tuesday morning, authorities confirmed.
The attack occurred around 2:30 a.m. on Octava Privada del Arce street in the Villas Otoch subdivision, located in Supermanzana 247 near Avenida Tules.
Three people sustained gunshot wounds and were rushed to Hospital General in serious condition. Hospital staff later reported two deaths to authorities.
The victims were identified as Nallely, 29; Agustin, 66; and Jorge Alberto, 39. Nallely suffered gunshot wounds to the front of her head, abdomen, and legs. Agustin was shot in the right cheek and right hand. Jorge Alberto sustained injuries to his abdomen, left arm, neck, and back.
Forensic investigators from the State Prosecutor’s Office found more than 15 shell casings on the terrace of the residence where the shooting occurred and four additional casings inside the home.
Initial reports indicate that a white vehicle arrived at the scene, from which two armed individuals emerged and opened fire on the victims.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
