Tulum, Quintana Roo — The municipality of Tulum is preparing to host the Pizza and Pasta Festival (P,P FEST), a gastronomic event scheduled for November 8 and 9 at the municipal esplanade. The event, organized with the participation of local businesses, is estimated to generate an economic impact of up to 600,000 pesos, according to the Municipal Directorate of Economic Development.

The head of the department, Melitón Pérez, reported that participation from more than half of the anticipated vendors has already been confirmed, and the call remains open for other interested businesses and restaurants to join the initiative.

"We aim to bring together 25 vendors to offer a wide variety of dishes based on pizza and pasta. With this initiative, we seek to strengthen the restaurant sector and generate a space for family coexistence that reactivates the local economy," said Pérez.

Economic and Tourism Projections

According to municipal estimates, the festival could attract approximately 1,500 visitors per day, establishing itself as a new tourist and gastronomic offering within Tulum's annual calendar of events.

The Director of Tourism Promotion, Haide Pastrana, emphasized that the festival is part of the municipal government's strategy to diversify the tourist offering beyond beaches and archaeological zones, thereby promoting the destination's gastronomic identity.

"Tulum is recognized for its landscapes and culture, but we also want to position it as a gastronomic reference. We invite residents and visitors to enjoy the Pizza and Pasta Fest, because no one can resist these flavors that bring families together," expressed Pastrana.

Support for Entrepreneurs and Family Coexistence

For his part, Eduardo Moras, Director of Strategic Projects, stated that the festival is integrated into an agenda of cultural and gastronomic activities aimed at strengthening the local economy and promoting entrepreneurship.

The event will take place in a family-friendly atmosphere from 4:00 in the afternoon until 11:00 at night, featuring live music, tastings, and presentations from local restaurants.

"The Pizza and Pasta Fest aims to establish itself as a showcase for entrepreneurs and an additional attraction for tourists visiting Tulum during the high season at the end of the year," added Moras.
