Tulum Police Department Dismisses Eight Officers in Purge
Tulum, Quintana Roo — The Tulum Public Security Department has dismissed eight police officers so far this year as part of an ongoing purge of the force, officials announced.
Edgar Aguilar, head of the department, said there are also four open criminal investigations against officers, which continue to be built with complaints and information provided by the public.
Officers who fail to meet the values and responsibilities required by the institution will be removed from service to strengthen public trust in the force, Aguilar said.
He added that he maintains direct communication with residents, who can file reports in person via his phone number, in addition to formal complaints filed with the appropriate authorities.
