Tulum, Mexico — As part of his social outreach and direct supervision of public services, Tulum Mayor Diego Castañón Trejo conducted a tour of the Akumal community, visiting the local health center and municipal delegation offices. He was accompanied by delegate Antonio Sosa Ruiz during the inspection.
Direct Engagement with Community Needs
During the visit, the mayor inspected recently completed improvements and engaged in direct dialogue with residents and operational staff. Community members presented specific concerns related to healthcare, basic services, and maintenance of local infrastructure.
"Listening closely allows us to provide real solutions," Castañón Trejo stated after personally addressing requests from residents regarding health, security, and urban development.
The mayor reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining a government that remains accessible to the public and focused on resolving priority issues for collective well-being.
Health Center and Administrative Review
At the Casa de Salud, Castañón Trejo assessed operational conditions and received feedback from medical staff, who requested increased supplies and better equipment to improve efficiency in patient care.
In the delegation offices, he reviewed administrative functions and the processes for handling citizen requests.
Equitable Development Strategy
The visit is part of a broader strategy by the Tulum municipal government to strengthen services in communities outside the municipal seat, promoting a more equitable and territorially focused approach to governance. According to the mayor’s team, similar tours will continue in other areas of the municipality.
Castañón Trejo emphasized that Tulum’s transformation must include all its communities. He stressed the importance of maintaining constant dialogue with residents, prioritizing investments in basic services, and ensuring development reaches every region of the municipality.
