Tulum Approves Tax Exemption for Social Services Camp

Tulum council members during session approving property tax exemption

Tulum, Mexico — The continuity of social services for children and families at the Playa Aventuras camp has been guaranteed after the Tulum municipal council approved a key administrative agreement during its most recent ordinary session.

During the Thirty-Second Ordinary Session of the Tulum City Council, held on January 20, 2026, the exemption from payment of the property tax for the 2026 fiscal year was approved for the property known as “Campamento Recreativo Playa Aventuras Leona Vicario,” identified with the cadastral key 905001000001057.

The measure aims to allow the continuous operation of this space, managed by the National DIF System, which provides social care and activities aimed at strengthening the family unit, particularly for priority sectors of the municipality and the region.

According to what was presented during the session, the decision adheres to the legal provisions regulating the use of properties intended for public service, avoiding tax burdens that could affect the provision of social programs at the camp.

The session was led by municipal president Diego Castañón Trejo, along with council members, who endorsed the agreement as part of the necessary administrative processes to ensure the continuity of services offered at this recreational and social center.

With this decision, the municipal government follows up on administrative actions aimed at keeping social care spaces operational, in coordination with institutions from different levels of government, with the purpose of addressing community needs and vulnerable populations.
