TULUM — The Tulum General Directorate of Civil Protection and Firefighters is carrying out preventive pruning work at various points throughout the municipality as part of the actions to reduce risks during the current tropical cyclone season.
According to Sergio Canto, head of the department, these tasks aim to prevent branches and trees from posing a danger in the event of strong winds or rains, thereby protecting families, students, and visitors. Crews are conducting inspections in public areas, schools, and transit zones in order to guarantee the safety of the population.
Authorities indicated that preventive pruning is an essential measure within the preparation protocols for hydrometeorological phenomena, as it helps prevent accidents such as falling trees, damage to vehicles, and obstructions on roadways or power lines.
The Directorate of Civil Protection and Firefighters reiterated that its commitment is to strengthen the culture of prevention in the municipality and maintain constant monitoring during the hurricane season. Furthermore, it called on citizens to collaborate by avoiding dumping waste on public roads, securing their homes, and promptly reporting any risky situation.
With these actions, the municipality seeks to consolidate a safety and protection scheme for the benefit of the community, prioritizing prevention as a strategy to reduce damage in case of an emergency.
