Tulum, Quintana Roo – With the objective of strengthening transportation service and mobility in the municipality, municipal authorities and representatives of the taxi sector held a working meeting to coordinate actions aimed at improving service for the local population and visitors.
The meeting was led by Tulum Municipal President Diego Castañón Trejo, along with the delegate of the Quintana Roo State Mobility Institute in Tulum, Enrique Pérez, and the president of the Tulum Taxi Drivers Union, Manuel Solís Alcocer.
During the meeting, participants agreed on the need to combine efforts between authorities and transport operators to consolidate projects that allow for raising the quality of service and responding to the accelerated growth of the destination. The municipal president highlighted that Tulum’s development demands solutions in line with new social and touristic dynamics, noting that mobility is a fundamental axis to guarantee orderly growth and a better quality of life.
For his part, the taxi union leader reported that the construction of an intercity terminal is being considered, which will have adequate infrastructure and services to serve a greater number of users. Likewise, he indicated that work is underway on the installation of new bus stops to make public transport operation more efficient.
Meanwhile, the delegate of the State Mobility Institute in Tulum assured that there is openness and willingness to collaborate with the different organizations in the sector, with the common objective of benefiting the population and improving the experience of those who visit the municipality.
Another topic addressed was the incorporation of technological tools into the taxi service, including the use of mobile applications and the upcoming integration of 100 new units equipped with security cameras, card payment systems, and translation devices, which will allow for better communication with foreign users and strengthen security during transfers.
Finally, the authorities and sector representatives agreed to maintain a coordinated work agenda to follow up on the proposed projects, expedite processes, and advance in improving transportation service in Tulum.
