Cancún — To finalize details for the Tulum Air Show 2026, an aerial spectacle scheduled for the Cancún International Airport from April 23 to 26, directors of the Feria Aeroespacial México (FAMEX) held a working meeting with state and federal authorities at the C5 headquarters.

The announcement for this major event, which will project Quintana Roo as an international benchmark in aeronautics, technology, and tourism, was made jointly by President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo and Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa. The official launch of FAMEX 2027 will take place during the Tulum Air Show.

A Platform for Aeronautical and Community Potential

The meeting was led by Cristina Torres Gómez, Secretary of Government; Bernardo Cueto Riestra, Secretary of Tourism; Eric Arcila Arjona, Head of the Office of the Governor; General Gpo. P.A. E.M. Disraeli Gómez Herrera, Director of FAMEX; as well as officials from the Secretariat of National Defense, including General Fidel Mondragón Rivero, Commander of the 34th Military Zone, and General Cristóbal Lozano Mosqueda, Commander of the X Military Region.

It was confirmed that the Tulum Air Show 2026 will be a platform to showcase the state's aeronautical, technological, cultural, and touristic potential, but also one of integration so that well-being and shared prosperity reach the most remote communities.

More than 20,000 visitors are expected, generating economic spillover in Tulum and surrounding areas, confirming that touristic success provides shared prosperity. The guest country is Italy. The arrival of private aircraft and participation from authorities of the Mexican Air Force are contemplated.

Scheduled Exhibitions and Public Access

The public will be able to enjoy parachutist exhibitions, demonstrations of F-5 aircraft, the participation of the Águilas Aztecas aerobatic team, and a performance by a civilian acrobatic aircraft. Furthermore, there will be a static exhibition in the hangar of Military Air Base No. 20 with free public access to take photographs and board some aircraft.

During the working session, it was highlighted that Quintana Roo has the four airports with the highest flow of international tourism in Mexico, making it a strategic venue for events of global reach. The authorities agreed that the Tulum Air Show 2026 will be a community event for the community, with national and international impact.

Integrating Regional Culture and Commerce

Among the proposals, plans include integrating representative cultural activities from the region, involving artisans from Quintana Roo, and conducting a mega publicity campaign to position the event as a new annual tourist attraction.
