Chetumal Artisans Prepare New Year Market Event

Chetumal, Quintana Roo — From December 29 to 31 of this year, the Tianguis VIDA (Vinculación, Impulso y Desarrollo Artesanal), Edition Heading to New Year 2026, will be held at the ADO Bus Terminal in Chetumal.

During these three days, local artisans will exhibit and sell their products and creations starting at 9 a.m. at the facilities of this bus terminal, located at Avenida Insurgentes corner Palermo, with the participation of more than 10 artisans, and admission will be free of charge.

The Tianguis VIDA Edition Heading to New Year 2026 is organized by authorities of the Municipality of Othón P. Blanco, through the Municipal Institute of Social Economy (IMES), and is an effort to strengthen the talent and local economy of artisans from the southern Mexican Caribbean.

Rossana Ayala Ramírez, general director of the Municipal Institute of Social Economy (IMES) of the municipality of Othón P. Blanco, said that Tianguis VIDA is a platform for artisans to commercialize their products directly and in an adequate space. It promotes artisanal commercialization, provides artisans with a monthly space to exhibit and sell their products, promotes local commerce, and strengthens the link between producers and consumers.

Why is it being held at the ADO Terminal?

In addition to fostering tourism by being located in strategic tourist areas to attract national and international tourists, which allows showcasing the region’s handicrafts and enriching Chetumal’s cultural and commercial offerings.

She indicated that in addition to the Tianguis VIDA Edition Heading to New Year 2026, last Friday the “Corredor Chactemal,” edition Heading to New Year 2026, was held, an event that filled the Explanada de la Bandera with color, tradition, and local talent, with the exhibition and sale of unique artisanal products.

She noted that at the event, the local talents, traditions, and enormous heart of the artisans of the municipality of Othón P. Blanco shone.
