Three Suspects Arrested in Tulum and Cancún Drug Busts

Cancún, Quintana Roo — Police arrested three men in separate drug busts across Quintana Roo on Tuesday, seizing marijuana, crystal meth, and crack cocaine in coordinated operations targeting street-level dealing.

Officers from the Public Security Department, working with the Mexican Navy, captured the suspects in Tulum and Cancún during a day of anti-crime patrols. All three face potential drug trafficking charges.

Tulum Arrest

In the Villas Tulum neighborhood of Tulum, officers from the Centurión Group spotted Idrian Alfonzo N handling bags of marijuana in the trunk of an orange Nissan Magnite. When police approached, the suspect tried to flee toward the driver’s seat but officers intercepted him on 4th Street East.

Police seized multiple doses of marijuana, the vehicle, and a cell phone.

Cancún Operations

Simultaneously in Benito Juárez municipality, police made two additional arrests. In the Las Palmas subdivision, superblock 259, officers captured Jonathan Arturo N after he attempted to evade them when seen handling narcotics. Police caught him on Palmas Betel cul-de-sac and confiscated 35 small bags of marijuana and 21 doses of crystalline fragments resembling crystal meth.

In the Ciudad Natura subdivision, superblock 260, investigators arrested Edgar N on Natura circuit while he was allegedly distributing drugs. At the time of his arrest, police seized a Didi Food-brand lunchbox backpack, a fanny pack, eight doses of marijuana along with a bulk bag of the same substance, and 23 doses of solid fragments with characteristics of crack cocaine.

Authorities also confiscated an unlicensed Italika motorcycle from this suspect.

All three detainees, along with the seized substances and vehicles, have been turned over to the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Drug Trafficking for legal proceedings.
