Three individuals suspected of kidnapping were arrested in Cancún, Mexico. The suspects, allegedly part of a criminal group, are accused of abducting a Colombian man involved in informal lending, often referred to as 'drop-by-drop' loans.
According to the initial report, the suspects forcibly took the man into a van around 7:00 PM. After the abduction, the victim's wife contacted the authorities using the emergency number 911.
In response, the Secretariat of Citizen Security and the National Guard initiated an operation. With the help of surveillance cameras from the security complex (C5), they were able to track down the van on November 20th Avenue.
At the intersection with Chac-Mool Avenue, law enforcement officers intercepted the vehicle and successfully rescued the victim. The man had been physically assaulted and required immediate medical attention. He was treated by paramedics at the scene and then transported to a local hospital.
The suspects were initially detained in a National Guard patrol car. They were later transferred to the State Attorney General's Office (FGE) to be processed by a public prosecutor.
