Cancún, Quintana Roo — Three men were killed and two other people were injured when attackers burst into a family home in the Valle Verde settlement on the outskirts of Cancún on Saturday afternoon and stabbed the occupants, according to preliminary reports.
Assailants armed with knives entered the house, located about a kilometer from José López Portillo Avenue, attacked the people inside and then fled, officials said. Three men died at the scene from multiple stab wounds. Another man was left in serious condition with a head wound, and a woman suffered multiple cuts to her neck.
The two injured victims were rushed to a hospital. Police cordoned off the home, where the three bodies remained, while investigators from the State Prosecutor’s Office gathered evidence.
The motive for the attack remained unknown.
