3 Arrested in Playa del Carmen Barbershop Attack – 2 Dead, 3 Injured

Three men have been detained in connection with an attack on a barbershop in Playa del Carmen, according to the Municipal Secretariat of Citizen Security of Solidaridad. The violent incident resulted in the death of two men, while a worker and three minors were injured.

The arrests were made at a police checkpoint on the Playa del Carmen-Tulum exit during a security operation initiated after the attack. A public service van, identified by the number 25, was stopped for inspection.

A canine officer indicated three passengers during the inspection. The suspects were identified as 21-year-old José “N”, a local resident, 21-year-old Julio “N” from Yucatán, and 39-year-old Jonathan “N” from Querétaro. They were found in possession of a loaded firearm with 8 rounds and 24 wraps of marijuana.

The three men were handed over to the State Attorney General's Office. However, only Jonathan N. has been identified as a participant in the armed attack so far.
