Three Construction Workers Shot in Playa del Carmen Attack
Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — Three construction workers were shot Thursday morning at a building site in Playa del Carmen, authorities said. The attackers fled and no arrests have been made.
The shooting occurred around 8 a.m. on Avenida Loros, between the Real Lucerna and Palmas Turquesa residential developments, according to municipal police.
Officers responding to the scene found three men with gunshot wounds. Paramedics transported them to a hospital, where they are receiving treatment.
Police said the victims were construction workers who were attacked without warning by unknown assailants. Officers secured the area and turned the scene over to forensic investigators and state prosecutors from the State Prosecutor’s Office.
