Isla Mujeres — With an atmosphere filled with emotion and local pride, the first elimination round of the "Sing to Mexico with Your Heart" contest was held this Saturday. The event, now in its third edition, is an initiative promoted by the Municipal Government led by Mayor Atenea Gómez Ricalde, with the stated purpose of strengthening cultural identity, fostering healthy family coexistence, and incentivizing local talent.

In this initial stage, the stage at the Municipal Esplanade once again brought together local families and visitors, who enjoyed each performance within a festive and unified setting. Following a session of high artistic quality, 7 participants were eliminated, while 14 advanced to the semifinal stage, scheduled for next Saturday, September 20.

During the event, the Director of Culture, Maricarmen Martínez Vera, emphasized that this type of initiative consolidates meeting spaces where families share moments of pride and joy, in addition to serving as a platform to recognize and encourage local talent.

She added that the winners of the top three places will receive prizes in kind and cash, ranging from 10,000 to 5,000 pesos, alongside special prizes for the best cheering section, the most-liked performance, and for those placing fourth through seventh.

With this contest, the Municipal Government reiterates its commitment to continue promoting artistic and cultural activities that consolidate the social fabric, reinforce the local island identity, and offer spaces for healthy and constructive family recreation.
