Teachers in Yucatán took to the streets, marching and blocking Itzáes Avenue in Mérida, to demand a wage increase. Their actions were confirmed by the National Union of Education Workers, who are advocating for a salary increase for state teachers.
The teachers are calling for the wage increase that was promised to them by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador. They are urging the government to fulfill this promise and provide them with the pay raise they were assured.
