FELIPE CARRILLO PUERTO, MX. — A man who worked as a taco vendor was abducted on Tuesday night in the community of Tuzik, located 49 kilometers from the municipal seat of Felipe Carrillo Puerto.
According to family members, the man, identified as 45-year-old Olegario Santos Aké, was resting at his home when, after 11:00 p.m., six armed individuals violently broke into his residence, assaulted him, and then forcibly placed him in a black truck.
The family stated that the subjects, who were allegedly wearing military and Ministerial Investigation Police (PMI) uniforms, claimed they needed the man for a judicial procedure. They then headed toward the exit of the town.
After recovering from the shock, the family reported the incident to the 911 emergency number, prompting police authorities to activate a “code red.” However, they were unable to locate the man.
With this new case, the number of people reported missing in the Southern Zone of the state now stands at 209 men and 68 women.
Furthermore, this is the third case reported in less than a week in Felipe Carrillo Puerto. Just this past weekend, Luis Ignacio Cuxim Baltazar, 36, and Joel Baltazar Pucheta, 31, were reported missing.
Unofficial information suggests these men may also have been abducted, but this has not been confirmed as of yet.
