Benito Juárez, Quintana Roo — Following a report of a missing minor and her subsequent recovery, the State Attorney General’s Office secured an arrest warrant for a male suspect identified as Arturo “N,” accused of involvement in acts potentially constituting the crime of rape in this municipality.
Details of the Case
The victim, a teenage girl, was reported missing by her family on May 27 of this year. Authorities issued an Amber Alert and activated the Alba Protocol to locate her.
The adolescent has a disability characterized by childhood behavioral delays and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Investigators allege that the suspect exploited her condition by deceiving her, claiming to be the manager of a famous musical group. He reportedly arranged to meet her at Las Palapas Park.
Once there, the suspect took her on an outing before escorting her to a hotel on López Portillo Avenue. There, he allegedly held her captive for two days, during which he repeatedly sexually assaulted her.
Arrest and Legal Proceedings
After executing the arrest warrant, members of the Investigative Police took Arturo “N” into custody and handed him over to the requesting authorities. His legal status will be determined within the constitutional timeframe.
The case has drawn significant attention due to the vulnerability of the victim and the severity of the allegations. Authorities continue to investigate the full extent of the suspect’s actions.
The State Attorney General’s Office has not released further details pending the ongoing judicial process.
