Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — An ambulance rushed to a middle school in the Villas del Sol subdivision on Monday afternoon to take a student to hospital after he apparently consumed drugs on campus.
Paramedics responded to Sebastián Canul Tamayo school, at the corner of Avenida CTM and Calle Chit, where they assessed the minor alongside Municipal Police officers. The officers had arrived at the site in two patrol cars in response to a 911 call.
The boy, a second-year middle school student wearing his school uniform, was carried out of the building on a stretcher, staring blankly. His father was with him and traveled with him to the hospital where he was admitted.
School staff declined to comment on the case, citing the fact that the student is a minor.
