Acroyali Gyros, a restaurant in Cancún, recently reported a theft on social media. A thief boldly entered the establishment and stole a statue significant to the restaurant's history. The statue represents the life of the restaurant's founder. The restaurant shared surveillance footage of the theft, showing the thief making off with the large statue.
The restaurant manager took swift action, reporting the incident to local authorities. The police responded quickly and efficiently, successfully locating the stolen artifact and returning it to the restaurant.
The surveillance footage, lasting roughly two minutes, captured the entire event. It showed the thief approaching the statue, dedicated to the restaurant's founder, Peter Panopoulos. Panopoulos devoted his life to sharing his love for Greek cuisine in Cancún.
The thief, appearing calm, used his tools to remove the statue. By one minute and ten seconds into the video, the theft was complete, and the thief was seen leaving with the statue.
Restaurant staff promptly posted about the incident on social media, raising awareness and seeking help from the local community and authorities. Thankfully, the situation was resolved positively, with the statue returned to its rightful place.
