Benito Juárez, Quintana Roo — The State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) of Quintana Roo, in collaboration with the National Guard (GN), conducted a raid on two properties in the municipality of Benito Juárez, rescuing 26 women who were victims of human trafficking in the form of forced prostitution.

Operation Follows Anonymous Tip

The FGE reported that the operation was carried out at properties located in Supermanzana 66, Calle 22, in the city of Benito Juárez. The raid was initiated after the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Human Trafficking and Exploitation of Children and Adolescents received an anonymous tip.

“The tip alerted authorities that these properties were being used as prostitution centers, where minors between the ages of 16 and 17 were being exploited,” the state agency stated.

Following the report, the FGE secured a search warrant from a control judge, which was executed on May 9. The operation resulted in the rescue of 26 female victims: 21 of Mexican nationality and five Colombian.

Exploitation Details Revealed

The FGE disclosed that the victims were providing sexual services for 250 pesos per client, of which they were forced to pay a 70-peso commission to a woman who collected payments every two days. This system reportedly generated approximately 40,000 pesos per week in illicit profits.

Authorities Secure Properties and Assist Victims

After completing the raids, authorities placed official seals on the properties. The rescued women were transported to the facilities of the State Attorney General’s Office to undergo necessary legal and support procedures.

The FGE emphasized its commitment to combating human trafficking and ensuring justice for victims, particularly minors subjected to exploitation.
