Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — Within the framework of an economic stimulus and socially-focused development policy spearheaded by Municipal President Estefanía Mercado, the Secretariat of Economic Development and Investment Attraction has signed a collaboration agreement with GS1 Mexico. The purpose of the agreement is to strengthen the competitiveness and modernization of Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises (Mipymes).

In this context, the Secretary of Economic Development and Investment Attraction, Antón Augusto Bojórquez Mackay, emphasized that the agreement represents a firm step toward a more participatory and equitable economy, where development is not concentrated in a single sector but benefits all residents of Playa del Carmen.

"This agreement reflects the spirit of the model from 'All Inclusive' to 'Todos Incluidos,' which seeks to ensure that economic growth reaches every family, every entrepreneur, and every community. We want Playa del Carmen to grow with innovation, with a technological vision, but above all with inclusion and opportunities for everyone," the official stated.

He detailed that, through this agreement, GS1 Mexico will provide free training and specialized advisory services to municipal personnel and local business owners on topics such as barcodes, electronic cataloging, data quality, and traceability, thereby driving the digital transformation and commercial integration of the productive sector.

Furthermore, he reaffirmed the commitment of President Estefanía Mercado to continue strengthening the local economy by promoting training, competitiveness, and innovation from within the territory.

The signing ceremony included the participation of the Director General of GS1 Mexico, Juan Carlos Molina Robledo; the Director of Operations, Sergio Zúñiga Bohigas; and the Director of Associate Development, Alejandro Trejo Rivera. The participants concurred that Playa del Carmen is advancing with a modern and inclusive vision of economic development.

With this alliance, the municipal government reaffirms its commitment to a more just, sustainable, and inclusive economic model, one that places entrepreneurs at the heart of the transformation and solidifies Playa del Carmen's status as a national benchmark for development with a human face.
