Cancún, Quintana Roo — The Benito Juárez City Hall, under the leadership of Mayor Ana Paty Peralta, has announced the sixth edition of the Paseo Cancunense program, scheduled for Sunday, July 6, from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The initiative aims to promote active mobility, sports, culture, and community engagement by temporarily closing sections of Bonampak, Uxmal, and Nader avenues to vehicular traffic, allowing exclusive access for pedestrians, cyclists, skaters, and families with pets.
A Hub of Recreational and Cultural Activities
This edition of Paseo Cancunense will feature a variety of recreational, educational, and sports activities designed for participants of all ages. Two cultural modules will be highlighted to foster creativity and artistic appreciation. The Institute of Culture and Arts will host an interactive workshop for children, including coloring activities, assembling a cube, and learning about iconic paintings in art history.
Additionally, a book exchange titled Mar de Lecturas (Sea of Readings) will encourage attendees to bring books in good condition, excluding technical manuals, religious texts, academic materials, or damaged publications.
Sports and Environmental Initiatives
The Municipal Sports Institute will organize demonstrations and interactive sessions in table tennis and quidditch to develop motor skills in a family-friendly environment. Environmental awareness will also take center stage with three key activities:
- Expoplantas: A marketplace for ornamental plants and gardening products.
- Organic Seed Workshop: A session with a 35-participant limit per round, teaching the importance of homegrown food.
- Adopta Fest: An initiative promoting responsible pet adoption.
Additional Programming
The event will also include:
- Ellas Facturan: A platform for women entrepreneurs to sell handmade products.
- Road Safety Education: Featuring Semaforina, a character from the Traffic Department, to teach children and teens about traffic safety.
- Family Games: Organized by DIF Benito Juárez to encourage recreation and bonding.
The Paseo Cancunense continues to serve as a cornerstone for community engagement, aligning with Mayor Peralta’s vision of fostering a healthier, more connected Cancún.
