Cozumel, Mexico — A total of sixteen cruise ships are scheduled to arrive in Cozumel this week, bringing more than 60,000 tourists to the island. This influx is expected to provide a significant economic boost for workers and tourism service providers, even during the current low season for tourist arrivals.

Elias Farah Ceh, the Subdirector of Tourism, confirmed the schedule and stated that the constant arrival of these vessels will help maintain economic activity. The ships are scheduled to dock at the island's various piers from October 13 to October 19.

According to Farah Ceh, many of the passengers will disembark to experience Cozumel Island, enjoying its attractions from public beaches and beach clubs to its gastronomy and hospitality. Others are expected to opt for natural resources such as the coral reefs and snorkeling activities.

The economic impact is anticipated to be substantial. Farah Ceh specified that the arrival of just over 60,000 people, with an average expenditure of 85 to 90 dollars per person, will provide a good source of income during this low season. He noted, however, that this figure could be higher and is variable.

The detailed schedule provided by the Administration Portuaria Integral de Quintana Roo (APIQROO) is as follows:

On Monday, October 13, the Disney Dream will dock at the Punta Langosta pier, while the Carnival Breeze will dock at the Puerta Maya pier.

On Tuesday, October 14, the Oasis of the Seas will arrive at the SSA México international pier.
