Quintana Roo, Mexico — The State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) of Quintana Roo reported that it secured the formal charging of six individuals—three women and three men—for crimes against health in the modality of drug trafficking, after presenting evidence before control judges in various operations conducted in the northern zone of the state.
Detentions in Puerto Aventuras for Possession with Intent to Supply
Jonathan “N” and María “N”, Charged After Flagrant Detention
In a first operation, Jonathan “N” and María “N” were detained in flagrante delicto on Calzada Puerto Maya street in Puerto Aventuras, municipality of Playa del Carmen. Both were formally charged for the crime of possession with intent to supply the narcotic cannabis sativa.
Mauricio “N” and Carlos Alfredo “N”, Detained in Irregular Settlement
In a second incident, Mauricio “N” and Carlos Alfredo “N” were apprehended on Lluvia de Oro street, between the federal Cancún–Tulum highway, in the irregular settlement Los Sauces, also in Puerto Aventuras. Following the corresponding hearing, the judge determined their formal charging for possession with intent to supply cannabis sativa.
Seizures in Villas del Sol and Tulum
Woman Charged for Simple Possession of Marijuana and Methamphetamine
In another independent operation, Yesy Nohemí “N” was detained on Aguilillas street in the Villas del Sol subdivision in Playa del Carmen. The charge corresponds to the crime of simple possession of marijuana and methamphetamine.
Detention in Tulum for Drug Trafficking
In the municipality of Tulum, agents of the Investigation Police detained Ivón Guadalupe “N” in flagrante delicto between Prolongación Beta Sur and Prolongación Osiris Sur streets in the irregular settlement 2 de Octubre. The woman was formally charged for crimes against health in its modality of drug trafficking.
Pre-Trial Detention for the Six Defendants
The Attorney General’s Office specified that the six charged individuals will remain under the precautionary measure of justified pre-trial detention, which will remain in effect for the duration of the judicial process.
