Cancún, Quintana Roo — Three people were injured, including two women, in a shooting attack Saturday afternoon at the bar “La Palapa del Chocky” in Cancún’s Region 230.
Witnesses reported that gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire on the bar before fleeing the scene. Paramedics arrived and transported the injured to the General Hospital after initial assessment.
Preliminary information indicates the two injured women were waitresses at the establishment, while the man is believed to have been a customer.
Police cordoned off the area and launched a search operation for the perpetrators, though no arrests have been confirmed.
Agents from the State Prosecutor’s Office processed the scene to collect evidence and open an investigation.
This latest violent incident at the bar adds to several attacks it has experienced in recent years. The most tragic occurred in January 2018, when a similar armed attack left 15 people injured and three dead.
