Cancun, Quintana Roo — A shooting at a bar in Cancun early Thursday left one man dead and at least two others seriously injured in what authorities suspect was a confrontation between criminal groups.
The incident occurred at the Carbo Nero bar in the Supermanzana 510 area, near the intersection of Avenida Las Torres and Chac Mool. Witnesses reported multiple gunshots that caused panic among patrons and residents.
According to initial reports, several armed men entered the establishment and opened fire, leading to an exchange of gunfire with other armed individuals inside. The shooting ended with one man dead outside the bar and two others gravely wounded.
Red Cross paramedics responded and transported the injured to a nearby hospital for urgent medical care.
Police officers from municipal, state, and federal forces launched a major operation to secure the area and collect evidence. Authorities located firearms of various calibers during their inspection.
The State Prosecutor’s Office also examined a white Nissan vehicle parked near the bar that may be connected to the incident.
