Seyé, Yucatán — With less than two weeks until Holy Week begins, actors in the town of Seyé are intensifying their preparations for the annual Living Stations of the Cross, polishing dialogues, coordinating logistics, and holding general rehearsals for the solemn reenactment of the Passion and death of Jesus Christ.
The artistic and spiritual display will reach its peak starting on Holy Thursday and continue with solemnity through the morning and midday of Good Friday, when faithful gather to commemorate the most significant biblical passages of the Christian faith.
Group leader Mario Dzul has consistently invited local residents to join the activities, aiming to strengthen community belonging and devotion. In response, recent days have seen intense activity in the church atrium and the Guadalupe sanctuary, spaces transformed into stages for reflection, prayer, and acting discipline.
“Here, participants refine technical and dramatic details to ensure each scene conveys the message of this Stations of the Cross with respect and depth,” the actors said.
Expectation is growing among parishioners, as the dedication shown by the organizing team and volunteers suggests this year’s edition promises to be one of the most participatory and emotional in recent times.
Each rehearsal provides an opportunity to adjust procession timings, review costumes, and ensure the staging carries the solemnity required for the occasion, which organizers say will guarantee an event that leaves an indelible mark on all attendees.
