Mérida Restaurant Week: Savor Yucatán’s Best Deals

Mérida, Yucatán — The seventh edition of the Mérida Restaurant Week commenced today, running until October 5, during which numerous restaurants will offer special menus and prices so that residents of Yucatán can savor local gastronomic delights.

The inaugural ceremony was led by the president of the Canirac Yucatán, Claudia González Góngora, marking the start of the Mérida Restaurant Week, a gastronomic event that positions the Yucatán capital as an international culinary reference.

Seventh Edition of Mérida Restaurant Week Surprises with Irresistible Offers

González Góngora highlighted that, from September 29 to October 5, more than 300 restaurants in Mérida, Progreso, Izamal, Valladolid, and Maxcanú will offer special menus at prices of 199, 299, and 499 pesos. The purpose is to provide locals and visitors with unique gastronomic experiences.

"The table is set and the invitation is open to all citizens and visitors. We encourage everyone to go out, visit the restaurants, and take advantage of these special promotions designed for all to enjoy the magic of our cuisine," emphasized the business leader, who also presides over the Consejo Coordinador Empresarial de Yucatán.

Representing Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena, the Undersecretary of Competitiveness and Development of the Yucatán Secretariat of Economy and Labor, Alberto del Río Leal, attended. He highlighted the importance of the festival for economic reactivation.

"Today the Mérida Restaurant Week with irresistible surprises becomes a key instrument to dynamize the internal market, support local producers, and strengthen one of the most dynamic sectors in the productive fabric of the State: the gastronomic industry. Every dish served this week is an opportunity to generate employment, tourism, and social well-being," he stated.

The official recalled that the event could not be held in 2024 and that this seventh edition of the Mérida Restaurant Week takes on greater relevance due to the complex economic context, marked by the red tide that affected the consumption of seafood products.

Gastronomy, Culture, and Yucatecan Pride

The Mayor of Mérida, Cecilia Patrón Laviada, also participated in the ceremony, highlighting that gastronomy and cultural activities strengthen social cohesion and the city's economic development.

The Mérida Restaurant Week is thus consolidated as a platform to project to the world the quality and diversity of Yucatecan cuisine, reaffirming the role of gastronomy as an engine for economic development and cultural pride for the region.

A Week to Savor Yucatán

The seventh edition of the tastiest week of the year not only invites diners to delight in unique menus but also to be part of a social and cultural movement that strengthens the Yucatecan identity and generates direct benefits for the local economy.
