Tax Caravan Aids 2,400+ in Quintana Roo Communities

Mobile tax service module assisting taxpayers in Quintana Roo

Chetumal, Quintana Roo — As part of year-end actions, the Secretariat of Economic Development (SEDE) consolidated the Caravana de Formalización y Progreso SAT, an interinstitutional strategy that served 2,494 taxpayers in six municipalities of Quintana Roo, strengthening tax equity and bringing fiscal services to communities with limited access to offices of the Tax Administration Service (SAT).

This action is part of the New Agreement for the Well-being and Development of Quintana Roo, promoted by Governor Mara Lezama, prioritizing direct attention, economic inclusion, and equitable access to public services that facilitate business formalization and orderly growth of economic activity throughout the state.

During 2025, in coordination with the SAT and municipal governments, SEDE implemented the caravan in Puerto Morelos, Playa del Carmen, Tulum, José María Morelos, Lázaro Cárdenas, and Isla Mujeres, installing mobile modules that offered services such as RFC registration, generation and renewal of e.signature, issuance of tax certificates, data updates and address changes, in addition to Civil Registry procedures and advice for financing and trademark registration.

The Secretary of Economic Development, Paul Carrillo, highlighted that this territorial attention model reduces costs and travel times for taxpayers, while promoting the formalization of entrepreneurs, youth, and micro-enterprises, complementing economic growth with business advice and civil services, in line with the objectives of the State Development Plan.

Thanks to this strategy, Quintana Roo went from zero people served at the beginning of the year to 2,494 beneficiaries by the end of 2025, with venues such as the José María Morelos Tourist Stop, the Lázaro Cárdenas Council Chamber, the Isla Mujeres Community Center, and municipal units in Puerto Morelos, Playa del Carmen, and Tulum, consolidating an effective route of fiscal attention and economic inclusion in urban and rural areas of the state.
