Rollover on Merida-Cancun Highway Leaves One Injured

Merida, Yucatan — A pickup truck rolled over on the Merida-Cancun highway Tuesday, leaving one person injured and disrupting traffic, authorities said.

The accident occurred at kilometer 62 of the highway when the driver of a small cargo truck lost control, causing the vehicle to overturn, according to initial reports.

Emergency services responded to the scene, where the injured person received medical attention before being taken to a hospital for further evaluation.

Motorists reported traffic delays as rescue crews worked to clear the wreckage. Officials urged drivers to exercise caution in the area.

Authorities reminded motorists to obey speed limits, stay focused on the road, and avoid using cell phones while driving to prevent accidents.
