Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Mexico – Residents of the town of Chunhuhub, located in the municipality of Felipe Carrillo Puerto, are experiencing a Friday of tense calm, after yesterday afternoon Shadani Lorena “N”, considered a priority target by security authorities, was captured amid a major operation that caused various roadblocks allegedly carried out by criminals.
During a tour conducted by Agencia Sim, the presence of several units from the state and municipal police, as well as the Mexican Army and National Guard, was confirmed at various points in the town.
Most units are concentrated on the Vía Corta Mérida, where the residence where Shadani Lorena “N” was captured yesterday is located, and in the central area of this locality.
To improve security in this area of Felipe Carrillo Puerto, police elements temporarily activated the famous “Garita”, located on the border between Quintana Roo and Yucatán, in order to monitor the entry and exit of motorists.
Meanwhile, stores and some service centers in this town are operating with relative normality, but not schools like the Centro de Bachillerato Tecnológico Agropecuario (CBTA) No. 80; this institution suspended classes yesterday, until further notice.
The arrest of Shadani Lorena “N” occurred yesterday afternoon when municipal and state police agents, led by elements of the State Attorney General’s Office, arrived on the Vía Corta a Mérida, at the entrance to this community, to begin this operation.
According to the State Attorney General’s Office, the outcome of the mobilization was the capture of this woman, although it is unknown, at this time, if she was found with illicit material inside the residence where she was located.
The capture of this alleged criminal leader generated several blockades allegedly carried out by members of a criminal group.
Since the start of this operation, the presence has been maintained and even reinforced with the presence of helicopters that periodically fly over the area.
Fear persists among the population due to the possibility of an escalation of violence in the area.
