Playa del Carmen, Mexico — A residential building fire in the Bellavista neighborhood prompted a large-scale emergency response, resulting in the rescue of one woman and the evacuation of 30 residents as a precautionary measure.
Fire Breaks Out in Residential Building
The blaze occurred at the intersection of Avenida 120 and Calle 3 Sur, where flames spread across one of the upper levels of the structure, alarming nearby residents. Civil Protection personnel and firefighters swiftly arrived at the scene to contain the situation.
During rescue operations, all building occupants were successfully evacuated. However, an elderly woman became trapped on the top floor and was unable to descend on her own. Emergency crews intervened, safely extracting her from the danger zone.
Firefighters managed to extinguish the flames before they could spread to adjacent properties. Paramedics provided on-site medical assistance to those in need.
Investigation Underway
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire. Officials urged the public to adhere to Civil Protection guidelines in emergency situations.
No further injuries or fatalities were reported.
