Refrigerated Truck Overturns on Cancun Airport Road After Driver Loses Control on Wet Pavement

A refrigerated truck overturned on its side on a wet road near Cancun International Airport

Cancun, Quintana Roo — A refrigerated truck overturned Tuesday night on a major road leading to Cancun International Airport, but the driver escaped without serious injuries despite the dramatic crash.

The accident occurred around 8:10 p.m. on Luis Donaldo Colosio Boulevard near Anahuac Cancun University. Motorists alerted emergency services to the overturned vehicle blocking the southbound lanes toward the airport.

Initial reports indicate the driver was traveling north to south, allegedly at excessive speed, and failed to account for wet pavement conditions caused by rain from a cold front. This led to a loss of control, with the truck coming to rest on its right side and causing temporary traffic disruptions in the area.

Despite the severity of the crash, the driver managed to exit the vehicle on foot without major injuries. Private paramedics provided on-site care, and no hospital transport was required. Traffic officers conducted an investigation and ordered the truck towed to an impound lot for legal processing.
