Quintana Roo — The Quintana Roo State Tax Administration Service (SATQ) has issued a public alert after detecting the circulation of a fake document labeled “Private Service Vehicle Registration.”
The state agency stated that the document lacks any legal validity and any similar format being distributed is considered fraudulent.
The SATQ clarified that all vehicle-related procedures are conducted exclusively in person at authorized Collection Offices and Modules. It also urged citizens not to use intermediaries or “managers” and to avoid making payments outside official counters.
“The only receipt with legal validity is the one issued directly by the SATQ,” the agency said.
How to Avoid Becoming a Fraud Victim
To protect personal assets and identity, the tax authority recommends:
- Verifying that any procedure is carried out at official offices.
- Not sharing personal data with unauthorized third parties.
- Avoiding deposits or transfers outside institutional channels.
- Confirming information through official sources before starting any process.
