Cancún, Mexico — New developments have been revealed in the investigation into the murder of Mario Machuca, the former leader of the CROC union in Cancún. According to the Quintana Roo State Attorney General's Office (FGE), the murder was planned in the municipality of Tulum.
The head of the agency disclosed this information during the weekly security briefing for Quintana Roo, which was held this day from the C5 facility in Cancún.
Luis Fernando "N", the former driver and assistant of Mario Machuca, and Lesly "N", detained in Guanajuato and a member of a rival union of the CROC, are alleged to have worked on the plan to carry out the crime from the ninth municipality of the state.
It should be recalled that since her detention, it had been indicated that Lesly "N" had alleged links to a group that generates violence and operates in Tulum.
According to the investigations, the two alleged intellectual authors met six months ago after being introduced by someone. The meetings where Luis Fernando and Lesly began to plan the execution of Mario Machuca, the CROC leader in Cancún who lost his life on August 4 of this year, are said to have taken place on a property commonly used to shelter heavy trucks.
“He (Luis Fernando "N") informed her (the woman) that he planned to take the life of Mario Machuca, the union leader, since he had problems with him because he was not allowed to collect his fees in Isla Mujeres, and also because he was harassing and bothering him,” stated Attorney General Raciel López Salazar during the press conference this Monday.
Once they agreed to participate in the crime, the former driver and assistant began providing the necessary information about the CROC leader, such as images, details of his activities and itinerary, and even the address of his home.
Furthermore, investigations report that the woman allegedly provided the weapons and other equipment needed to carry out the execution of the former local deputy, political leader, and union head.
It should be remembered that in addition to the two intellectual authors of the murder of Mario Machuca, Ángel Yair 'N', 21; Arnulfo 'N', "El Nunfo", 34; and Guillermo 'N', 47, the alleged perpetrators of the crime, were previously detained in Mexico City.
