Suspect Linked to Process for October Homicide
The Quintana Roo State Prosecutor’s Office (FGE) reported that it obtained the linking to process of Guillermo “N”, alias “El Grande”, for his probable participation in the crime of qualified homicide, committed on October 28 of this year in the municipality of Cozumel. The information was released through statement 228/2025-FDC, issued on December 16, 2025 at 07:35 hours.
According to the investigation file, the events occurred when the victim, a man whose identity remains reserved, was aboard a vehicle with his partner. At that moment, the accused Guillermo “N” arrived at the location, approached the driver’s window, and allegedly fired a gun at him, causing head injuries that resulted in his death.
After receiving the report, the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Homicide Crimes initiated the corresponding inquiries and gathered the necessary evidence to request an arrest warrant from the judicial authority. This warrant was granted and subsequently executed by elements of the Investigation Police.
Once the case file was judicialized, the Control Judge determined to link Guillermo “N” to process for the crime of qualified homicide, also imposing the precautionary measure of mandatory pre-trial detention, so he will remain deprived of liberty during the development of the criminal process.
Six Additional Suspects Linked in Drug Cases
Separately, the State Prosecutor’s Office also achieved the linking to process of six more people in different municipalities of Quintana Roo, all for crimes against health in the modality of drug retailing.
- In Cozumel, the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Drug Retailing Crimes obtained from the Control Judge the order linking to process for Christian Enrique “N” and Manuel Vladimir “N”, for possession with intent to supply marijuana and cocaine.
- In Playa del Carmen, agents of the Investigation Police detained José Melchor “N”. During the initial hearing, the Social Representation provided sufficient evidence for the Control Judge to decree the linking to process for possession with intent to supply, imposing justified pre-trial detention as a precautionary measure for the duration of the process.
- In the municipality of Tulum, José Antonio “N” was linked to process for his probable participation in drug retailing crimes, in the variant of possession of cannabis and cocaine, remaining subject to the precautionary measure of justified pre-trial detention.
- Finally, in Othón P. Blanco, the judicial authority linked to process Sammir Izael “N”, for possession with intent to supply marijuana and methamphetamine.
The State Prosecutor’s Office reiterated that these results are part of permanent actions to combat high-impact crimes and drug retailing in Quintana Roo, with the objective of strengthening security and access to justice in the entity.
