Quintana Roo Opens Online Enrollment for Primary and Secondary Schools for 2026-2027 Academic Year

Chetumal, Mexico — The Quintana Roo Education Department (SEQ) has launched online enrollment for primary and secondary schools for the 2026-2027 academic year, with registration open from February 3 to 20.

Parents and guardians can enroll children for first-time admission to preschool, first grade of primary school, and first grade of secondary school at public schools in Quintana Roo through the website https://padresenlinea.seq.gob.mx. The process is free and personal, though in-person assistance modules have been set up across the state’s 11 municipalities for those who need it.

SEQ head Elda Xix Euán encouraged families to complete the enrollment, noting that Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa is monitoring the process to ensure all students have access to quality education. “Through the New Agreement for Well-being and Development of Quintana Roo promoted by Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa, we provide excellent, transformative, supportive, and inclusive education so that all girls, boys, young people, and adolescents have a guaranteed space to start, continue, and complete their studies,” the department stated.

Online Process Details

For students currently in third grade of preschool or sixth grade of primary school at public or private institutions, parents must log into the Padres en Línea platform with their username and password, click on the STUDENTS menu, and download and print the pre-enrollment form. Those who already completed preschool pre-enrollment in January 2026 do not need to repeat the process but should download their form for submission to the school.

The platform will allow school or shift changes only for preschool students from February 3 to 20, subject to availability. For primary school, students must turn six years old by December 31, 2026, to enroll in first grade. For general and technical secondary schools, students must be under 15 years old at the start of the academic year.

For telesecundarias (distance learning secondary schools), students must be under 16 at the start of the school year, and for rural and indigenous communities lacking adult secondary education, students must be under 18.

Enrollment Steps

New users must register as a guardian on the Padres en Línea platform, while returning users can use their existing credentials. The steps include: registering the guardian, adding the child, selecting or changing the school, and downloading and printing the form. Parents who forget their password can contact the SEQ Virtual Assistant via WhatsApp at 983 212 2466, sending “Hello” and selecting the parent option to recover login details.

Students advancing to the next grade in the same school for the 2026-2027 academic year do not need to complete new online enrollment, as their spot is automatically guaranteed.
