Quintana Roo, Mexico — The hotel supply for 2026 includes four additional hotels from the Hyatt chain, which will add to an existing offering of 20,000 rooms in Quintana Roo.

Christophe Lorvo, Hyatt’s vice president in Mexico, detailed that the purpose is to continue adding more jobs in the state, as it currently has 15,000 employees in Quintana Roo and is already the chain with the most rooms operated in the state.

“We arrived in Mexico in 1972 in Acapulco, which was the first we had; today we have more than 75 hotels in the republic and in the state of Quintana Roo, with many projects to open in the coming years,” he expressed.

Among the projects for Quintana Roo, he mentioned the development of residences being built in Mayakobá, another hotel in Puerto Morelos, as well as a Park Royal and a Gran Hyatt, both in Cancún.

Hyatt already operates 15 properties in Cancún and 35 hotels throughout the state. “In Quintana Roo, more than 14,300 colleagues are part of the Hyatt family. Throughout the country, the company employs more than 21,000 collaborators in hotels, corporate offices, and shared operations with HIC and Patrimonio,” explained the executive.

In addition to the above, the recent inauguration of Hyatt Place Cancun Airport, Hyatt’s first airport hotel in the country, is included. It is a 156-room property that had the presence of Governor Mara Lezama at the inauguration.
