Bacalar, Quintana Roo — Governor Mara Lezama inspected completed maintenance work on Federal Highway 307 at the exit from Bacalar, a route considered strategic for tourism, commerce, and daily mobility for thousands of families in southern Quintana Roo.

The governor highlighted that, in coordination with the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT) and the federal government, authorities allocated an investment of 17.7 million pesos for the repair and maintenance of the asphalt surface in various sections.

The work included replacing complete concrete slabs from the base to the pour, seal coating, milling, and placing a new seven-centimeter-thick asphalt layer. Additionally, on the five kilometers that were repaired, crews applied asphalt coating to ensure greater durability and safety on the road surface.

During a visit to the site, Mara Lezama emphasized that this corridor sees thousands of vehicles pass daily, making it a vital artery for the southern region of Quintana Roo. The rehabilitation directly benefits residents of Bacalar, Felipe Carrillo Puerto, and Chetumal, as well as visitors traveling to the state’s tourist attractions.

“With this rehabilitation, we improve mobility and strengthen economic development for the benefit of our people,” the governor said, reiterating that her administration will continue working permanently, without rest, 24/7, for the well-being and shared prosperity of Quintana Roo.

The project was completed thanks to joint management with SICT and support from the federal government, as part of efforts to strengthen highway infrastructure in the state. “Completed work, works that transform lives,” Governor Mara Lezama concluded.
