Quintana Roo, Mexico — With a message of hope, unity, and prevention, Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa and the honorary president of the Sistema DIF Quintana Roo, Verónica Lezama Espinosa, led the launch of the "Actúa en Rosa" campaign. The initiative aims to strengthen awareness about breast self-exams and early detection of breast cancer across the state.

Throughout the entire month of October, Quintana Roo is illuminated in pink, uniting all 11 municipalities in a large, solidarity-driven chain that promotes health, prevention, and self-love.

"Breast cancer can change a life in an instant, but it can also be fought and cured if we act in time. 'Actúa en Rosa' is a call for every woman to take care of herself, perform self-exams, and protect her life, because to prevent is to love life," expressed Governor Mara Lezama.

The campaign is being carried out through the Sistema DIF Quintana Roo, in coordination with state and municipal agencies, with the purpose of sensitizing society about the importance of self-examination, reminding the public that a woman's health is also the health of her family.

For her part, the honorary president of the state DIF, Verónica Lezama, highlighted that this action represents a solidarity embrace for all women who are facing or have faced this disease, as well as a reminder to society to accompany them on their path to recovery.

"This month and every day we want to tell women that they are not alone, that their fight is also our fight. To act in pink is to take care of oneself, to love oneself, and to take care of those we love," she affirmed.

As part of this campaign, public buildings, municipal palaces, and emblematic spaces across the state will remain illuminated in pink, symbolizing hope, life, and the commitment of the Humanist Government with a feminist heart led by Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa.
