Search alert poster for Jesus Esteban Perez Galicia issued by the Quintana Roo State Prosecutor's Office

Chetumal, Quintana Roo — The Quintana Roo State Prosecutor’s Office has activated a search alert for a 29-year-old man who was abducted by armed assailants near the community of Calderitas, officials announced Wednesday.

The victim, identified as Jesus Esteban Perez Galicia, was reportedly taken by force early Tuesday morning from a property approximately 100 meters from the old “Calquin” stone quarry. Authorities said four masked men wearing black caps and armed with long guns arrived in a white pickup truck and a medium-sized red vehicle. They violently seized Perez Galicia, who was apparently working as a night watchman at the residence, and forced him into one of the vehicles before fleeing the scene.

Residents in the area reported hearing gunfire and alerted authorities. State police officers and prosecutors responded to the scene, where they found blood stains and a spent shell casing, confirming shots were fired during the abduction.

The Prosecutor’s Office released a detailed description of Perez Galicia to aid in the search. He is described as having a robust build, weighing 110 kilograms and standing 1.9 meters tall. He has light skin, dark brown eyes, and short brown hair. Distinctive features include a scar on his chin and eyebrow. He has a tattoo on his right forearm reading “EVAN MAURICIO,” a tattoo of a woman’s face and mandalas on his right shoulder, and the name “KAREN” with a rose and heart on his chest.

The search alert for Perez Galicia was one of several issued by authorities on Wednesday. The State Prosecutor’s Office also activated alerts for Esteban René Aparicio Yáñez, 43, last seen on February 14 and reported missing on February 17, and for Marcos Samuel Uicab Baas, who disappeared on the same date. In the municipality of Benito Juárez, authorities are searching for Roberto Rodríguez Gómez, reported missing on February 15.
