Groundbreaking Flood Prevention Plan Unveiled in Mérida

The Municipal Public Services Director in Mérida has announced plans to construct cisterns to mitigate flooding in various parts of the city. The plan includes the construction of at least 20 storage tanks at critical flood locations, each capable of storing between 62,000 and 75,000 liters of water.

These cisterns will be strategically placed and drilled in specific sections. The cost for each cistern is estimated to be between 700,000 and one million pesos, depending on the size and depth.

In addition to the cisterns, the city will also open bids for the construction of wells and large rainwater collection systems in various neighborhoods of Mérida. This part of the project is expected to require an investment of approximately 6 million pesos.
