Cancun, Quintana Roo — Police in Cancun arrested two men with 140 packets of suspected drugs during a surveillance operation in the city’s Supermanzana 110 neighborhood.
The arrests occurred as part of the “Blindaje Cancún” security program, coordinated with the Quintana Roo State Prosecutor’s Office and the National Guard. Officers observed the two men exchanging what appeared to be narcotics and conducted a preventive inspection.
Police seized 78 small bags containing a substance resembling marijuana and 62 bags with a granular substance characteristic of crystal meth. The suspects were identified as Benito de Jesús “N,” 19, and José Humberto “N,” 35.
Authorities handed both men over to the State Prosecutor’s Office to determine their legal status. Officials announced that the operation is part of ongoing efforts to combat drug sales in the city.
In the previous week from March 2 to 8, police seized 1,293 doses of narcotics at various locations throughout Cancun.
