Cancún, Mexico — Police arrested three people during a drug bust in Cancún’s Supermanzana 64 neighborhood on Monday, seizing narcotics and a loaded firearm.

State police officers, working in coordination with the Mexican Army and Navy, spotted a woman exchanging small bags of marijuana with a couple inside a Chrysler Town & Country van at the intersection of Chichén Itzá and Independencia streets in the Donceles 28 colonia.

The officers detained the three suspects, identified as Guadalupe “N,” Lizbeth Estela “N,” and Rosa Idalia “N.”

During a search, police seized 116 small bags of marijuana, 25 doses of crystal meth, and a 9mm pistol loaded with 15 rounds.

Authorities said the suspects face potential charges for drug-related offenses and violations of Mexico’s Federal Firearms and Explosives Law.

The three individuals were turned over to the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Drug Trafficking for further investigation.
