Playa del Carmen Keeps Transport Schedules and Fares for Holidays

Transportation in Playa del Carmen during holiday season

Playa del Carmen, Mexico — The Lázaro Cárdenas del Río taxi union and the company Transportes Urbanos del Carmen (TUCSA) will maintain the same public transport schedules during Christmas and New Year.

This was confirmed by Nayeli Molina, director of Municipal Transport in Playa del Carmen, who reported that this decision was reached by mutual agreement between both public service providers.

“We will be managing the issue of passenger flows, to see some type of extension, mainly on the 24th and 31st,” she added.

The official noted that any eventual fare increases during these holidays will also be prohibited.

She specified that in case of any complaint or report, users can go to the Transport Department from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

She clarified that this department will work with the exception of Saturday and Sunday, as well as December 25 and January 1.

She highlighted that on these non-working days, complaints can be submitted electronically to the email address direccion.transporte@playadelcarmen.gob.mx.

She detailed that the report must be accompanied by the unit’s economic number, the route taken, and a brief description of the situation so that the department can act accordingly.

She added that users must also provide a telephone number so that department staff can make contact.
