Another Power Outage Hits Puerto Aventuras Marina

Puerto Aventuras, Quintana Roo — The marina area of Puerto Aventuras was left partially without electricity late Sunday night after yet another outage from the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE), disrupting tourist activity and local businesses in one of the community’s busiest zones.

Residents reported that the outage began when one of the four circuits feeding the marina’s section switch was damaged. According to CFE, crews worked through the night and managed to restore service on three of the four circuits, allowing power to return to much of the complex by early Monday. Full restoration was still pending, and no official timeframe was given.

This marks the second significant blackout to affect the Riviera Maya in less than a week, following Friday’s large-scale outage that hit much of the Yucatán Peninsula. While smaller in scope, Sunday night’s disruption struck a high-profile area that depends heavily on steady electrical service.

Some residents have suggested that ongoing installation of new water lines throughout Puerto Aventuras may have contributed to the damaged electrical line, though this has not been confirmed. Attempts by residents to obtain clarification from COLONOS, the homeowners’ association, were unsuccessful.

For now, business owners and residents alike are watching closely, frustrated by the repeated interruptions and wary of what future projects or infrastructure issues could mean for reliability in the marina.
