Cancún, Mexico — A motorcyclist sustained serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle that fled the scene in Cancún’s Las Palmas neighborhood on Thursday, prompting an emergency response.
The collision occurred at the intersection of Palma Real Avenue and Cantanche Street when a private vehicle violently struck the motorcycle. The impact threw the rider several meters until he crashed into the corner of a parked bus.
Witnesses rushed to aid the injured motorcyclist, who remained lying on the pavement with serious injuries, and immediately called emergency services. The driver responsible for the collision fled without providing assistance.
Civil protection personnel arrived minutes later and provided pre-hospital care at the scene. After an initial assessment, they transported the victim urgently to General Hospital, where he was admitted for specialized medical treatment due to the severity of his injuries.
The motorcycle remained at the accident site with significant material damage from the impact. Authorities have not yet identified the fleeing vehicle and are investigating to locate the responsible driver. The motorcyclist’s condition was reported as serious.
