Cancún, Mexico — A motorcyclist died tragically this afternoon after crashing into a palm tree upon losing control of his vehicle while traveling on Bonampak Avenue.
The incident was reported at approximately 5:30 p.m. near a Walmart location, just a few meters from kilometer 0 of the Hotel Zone. An ambulance arrived at the scene, and its paramedics confirmed the individual showed no signs of life. The body was located on the central median, beneath the palm tree with which the rider had collided.
One account of the events indicates the motorcyclist was traveling toward the Hotel Zone when he lost control, apparently due to excessive speed. Another version states that the deceased first collided with other motorcyclists before crashing into the palm tree.
Due to this version of events, two individuals were detained while investigations into the case are carried out. Agents from the State Attorney General's Office and criminalistics experts arrived at the site. They were responsible for recovering the body and transporting it to the Forensic Medical Service, where it was admitted as an unidentified person.
